DISTINGUISHING COMMON AND PROPER NOUNS IN MACHINE TRANSLATION

This article describes a number of techniques for automatically deriving lists of common and proper nouns, and shows that the distinction between two types of nouns can be made automatically by using a vector space model learning algorithm.
